Soon... Soon...

We've really been struggling, so we haven't been able to afford to camp. Hence, no posts. Give us time, we'll be back on our feet.

Looking Forward to the Camping Season

Something we have always wanted to do was to start camping more often. Last year, we went on only 1 real camping trip. We kept saving camping for when we could get an extended period of time off. We realised that just isn't necessary. There is no reason we can't pack the car on a Friday night after work, take off early Saturday, and head off back home on Sunday. We could even pack the stuff Thursday and just load the car and leave Friday night if the site is close enough and has late check in. That is what we will be doing this year. Lilly likes to read out in the quiet woods, Mia, Julie, Pastel, and I all enjoy meditating amongst the trees, Becca can have a beer by the quiet fire, and we can just relax. Even if we have work to do, it'll be a lot less stressful to bring a netbook to the woods to get it done.

We plan to spend a lot more time away from our apartment this year. It's just a major way to reduce stress.

We're planning out what of our camping gear needs to be repaired or replaced. The idea being to simplify. Our tent is in great shape, as always, but our stove, some lighting, and a few kitchen items are in need of some help.
For short trips, we plan to adapt our car for sleeping in the cargo bed. If it's just 1 or 2 nights out in the woods, I don't see why not. The tent will be put up, of course, when we have a longer weekend stay.

Friends of ours are all welcome to come with us, particularly on our cheaper or longer camping trips.

Those of you reading this blog, please comment below with any camp-grounds in Connecticut (or even surrounding states) you think we should visit and why.

Our first trip of the year is just a couple months away.
